Tire sensors can be a tricky proposition for an body shop, tire shop, car dealer or individual. It doesn't always go as planned as many of you know. The installation is fairly simple as most sensors now just replace your valve stem. The TPMS relearn procedure to sync your vehicle and your sensors can be just as simple if you have someone who has installed TPMS hundreds of times.
Keys to remember when replacing TPMS:
-Make sure to order the correct sensor for your year, make and model. (Some models have different frequencies)
-Make sure your tire professional has installed them correctly and inflated the tires to the correct air pressure for the vehicle. (Tire pressure must be within about 2-3 lbs of air at the most-See your vehicle placard usually found in the drivers side door. )
-Make sure to move the vehicle away from any other wheels/tires with sensors installed (This is especially important if you have winter/summer tires or getting aftermarket wheels and you still have them in your vehicle)
-Make sure to follow the relearn procedure to a "t". (If you begin to have any issues, first try starting over from the beginning, the most difficult problems usually can be solved with the simple task of starting over and checking every step.)
